This is a good read about the causes of obesity:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Obesity-Epidemic-What-caused-stop/dp/1907797475

Works - I lost 6 kgs in 4 weeks at work following her advice and Mrs Awkward's morning blood sugars dropped from about 12.0 to 8.5 the days after I serve salad with a vinegar dressing at dinner /tea time with no other changes to her diet.

it's all got to do with how insulin regulates blood sugar and it's not how the "experts" and "specialists" that Mrs Awkward sees explains it or leads you to believe it works.

That is very interesting! Thanks for the link to the book. xx

It really does work - going by the scales for getting on the helicopter I'm down about 15 kgs since August, belts in 2 inches and the guys who noticed the weight loss asked me what I was up to as they could see I wasn't stinting portion size or skipping meals and started it as well and all started losing weight.

Don't follow it religiously especially at home but that doesn't matter, there is no "cheat" or "guilt" aspect to it.

Enjoy the read - I did.

That's it for me Frances.... Back on the Steamed organic veg diet with steaks & fish! I lost 2 dress sizes in less than a month on this regime just before last September. Then I got bored with it & had no time to prepare it all with the uni workload & the constant fucking concentration interferences going on with this emf shit & the 'handlers' endless fucking games!

No more will I enjoy my breakfast croissants with jam. No more will I enjoy my stews with suet dumplings... that I will really miss!

I shall have to re-invent my entire cuisine. Thank god you know how to avoid all this shit... I'll bring a note pad & pen with me next weekend!xx

Great article and very useful too. Thanks Frances. I would just say it's not only poor families who are forced to consume cheap crappy food. People who would have been considered reasonably well-off not so long ago are in similar situation nowadays, given their mortgage repayments are so high, so they need to cut back on food. They also pay income tax. Makes me wonder how my parents managed to raise 6 kids without any of us ever going hungry, let alone both my maternal & paternal grandparents who each had 9 kids raised during depression. There again, we had hand-me-down clothes and no holidays overseas or even to other states. However we did have big back yards so enough space to grow vegetables and every 2nd neighbour raised chooks, sold eggs etc. We lived in state housing dept suburb and dept re-painted our weatherboard house every 4-5 years and if we had a plumbing/electricity problem they fixed it for free. Also, my mum knew how to cook and never wasted a penny. I remember when we were naughty my mum used to call us "bloody little wasters". Not that we wasted anything. It was just what she used to say, probably learnt from her mum when times were much harder. I often find myself thinking what bloody little wasters my kids and especially grandkids are, but that's unfair I guess because maybe we brought them up that way. In any case, obesity was extremely rare back then. I doubt they used glyphosate either.

Glyphosate was invented in 1974. Whoever is responsible for releasing that muck into nature has some heavy karma coming!

Possible supporting data point: contrary to popular wisdom, nowadays obesity tends to be more prevalent in rural, not urban areas, see e.g. https://www.cdc.gov/pcd/issues/2023/23_0136.htm

Please note that the areas most affected chart refers to Brits. Not Americans. Our country is so small in comparison with yours that your data doesn't actually relate to us. We don't have vast unpopulated areas in Britain.

I tried to look up more data, and the global picture seems mixed: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-019-1171-x

Throughout the «First World», rural folks are fatter, and have been so for quite some time; in Africa, urbanites are more likely to be obese.

I'll check if I can find anything on global herbicide consumption.

Excellent article! Every time the FDA in USA green lights another questionable substance to be applied across the entire food system there’s another big step up in obesity, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammatory syndromes. My weight went on suddenly around 2007. So did certain (but not all) friends of mine and acquaintances, plus my brother who lives 500 miles from me. Not everybody, but based apparently by body type (at least in terms of visible weight gain).

Among other things Glyphosate was okayed not only for Roundup Ready crops but as a desiccant for non-gmo crops. It winds up contaminating damn near everything in the food chain. Not to mention the transgenic gmo plants that become self contained pesticide factories and their toxins can get through a leaky gut that half the people in the USA develop due to the aforementioned glyphosate. Brilliant.

I used to grouse half kiddingly that they were trying to breed a Roundup Ready population. After the events of the last 3 or 4 years, I’m not kidding about it anymore.

I think the worst moment came for me when one of our vegan Brit politicians got tested for glyphosate. She was sure she would come out of it with a clean slate but she didn't. She only eats the best, expensive organic food.... so much for THAT malarkey, huh?

Right! There’s also the little issue of hormone disrupters and xenoestrogens due to the heavy use of plastics and plastic linings in the food supply. I get my skepticism on such things from my parents. I distinctly remember when plastics began to replace glass in food packaging in the late 1970s and my mother rejecting it when there was still a choice, saying “that can’t be good for us long term.” I remember her greatest concern at the time was increased cancer risk that would follow

Your mum was right! If it is an oil and gas bi-product, it cannot be regarded as food or suitable to wrap food either. Total logic.

Good wake up. BTW it is quite hard to find the kind of "fat" folks here in Japan as in the West. Diet is different, but EMF are the same, maybe more. Everyone in packed trains reading their phones mostly thru the cell network not the train Wifi-but there's that too. Perhaps there's less glyphosate here, that I can believe, though Starbucks is quite popular. The childhood vax schedule is also similar here. EMFs probably causing other things...cellular damage, etc.

🦹Glyphosate, that's the main suspect!

The dramatic shift to and reliance on corn in our diets? Couple that with much more sedentary roles? Not sure.

.....'MORPHed' later from an 'ECTO' (which I hated being) to a 'MESO' - but honestly, two MAIN causes since at LEAST 1990 are 1) JABS and b) wireless-radiation exposures (MOST artificial EMFs but, to a FAR-lesser extent) - these drugs, are just the LATEST anatomical insult.....

Drugs? Oh, do you mean the drug which paralyses the gut to help people who are obese? That is particularly horrific, isn't it?

I dare say that administering too many vaccines to children since the 1990s may have something to do with obesity, among other things. It is so hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. There have been so many changes that it seems obvious we are being bombarded with toxins from every direction and working out which is responsible for which effect is deliberately difficult.
