That is a western interpretation of the Tao Te Ching. Try to find a normal version preferably from a Chinese translator and commentator. It is likely to be far more accurate and less tainted with westernised thinking.

Christianity predates the Roman Catholic Church (I don't include holy there because obviously it isn't) and to say Jesus learned taoism is a little backward - he is truth and anything that is true is all about him. I do believe the bible, but it is only possible to understand any of it with the Spirit's guidance - God preserves his word and man may attempt to thwart it with no affect because the Spirit will have his way.
'Backward'? Only someone completely ignorant of the philosophy of Taoism could ever use such a word to describe it.
I didn't describe taoism as backward - I described the thought that Jesus learned it as such, like the cart before the horse.

I can only ask you to study Taoism. That is how I recognised the connections with Jesus. There were too many coincidences for me to express here, but they were scattered throughout my many years of studying Taoist literature. I spent more than 20 years studying, which culminated in becoming a Barefoot Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, an honour beyond price.
The moment I found Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh as an ancient herbal remedy for extreme poisoning I had what we could call an epiphany.... a Eureka moment!
I leapt up from my seat and punched the air. From then on I was fully and actively looking for similarities in the philosophy of Taoism and the words, healings and actions we know of Jesus Christ.
I found that I too could heal the blind and I did it.
I also healed cancer, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, extreme excema on a new born baby. I had the means via my Taoist studies.
All the parables are stories taught to Chinese children to help them understand their heritage and their ancient culture.
The baptism of water is only the first of four. John the Baptist did not survive long enough to teach them all. These are all in Taoism.
The baptism of water symbolises the attribute of love. It is essential before we can move onto the other three.
The baptism of air symbolises the attribute of intelligence or mind. Learning how to think and not to think, as in deep meditation.
The baptism of earth symbolises the attributes provided by matter. Learning how to manipulate matter harmlessly is crucial.
Finally, the baptism of fire symbolises spiritual connectedness with the ALL, the Tao, also known as the Way. The Way cannot be expressed in words according to Lao Tzu in his wonderful book Tao Te Ching which is only one of his helpful manuals for soulful seekers.
If you wish to retrace my journey of discovery you would need to start with Lao Tzu and maybe try to understand the I Ching but that is the really tough end of the philosophy and I still work hard to fully appreciate all its nuances and meanings.

That is a western interpretation of the Tao Te Ching. Try to find a normal version preferably from a Chinese translator and commentator. It is likely to be far more accurate and less tainted with westernised thinking.
There is no sexism in Taoism. It was only later, with Confucianism that certain changes to culture arose, such as believing a woman was incapable of rational thought until she passed menopause or that the feet should be bound to prevent running away.

Oh that bit is really easy to explain. Two thousand years ago the old Silk Road from China had Taoist hospitality bases all along it. It passed through near Galilee where Jesus grew up. The three wise men who gave him gold, frankincense and myrrh also warned Joseph and Mary about Herod's intentions to kill all the first born males in the area because he was afraid of the King they were seeking.
It doesn't take much imagination to see them helping to hide Jesus from that slaughter and where would they have gone? To the Silk Road Taoists who ran hospitals, schools, hotels within their compounds. It would account for the lost years from birth until twelve years of age of Jesus. There is no account of where he studied, just that by the age of twelve he was arguing with the rabbis and Pharisees.
I would hazard a guess that Mary learned the healing arts there too - it was she who put the sponge up to Jesus' mouth, when he was on the cross, but we are not told what was on that sponge - only that Jesus 'died' after drinking from it.
There is a lost formula in ancient herbal medicine and that is called Soma. It was capable of reducing life signs to a minimum to facilitate operations or repairs which could not happen if the patient was conscious. It is said that Soma would affect a person for 3 days. Hence the resurrection.

That is what really does happen. Have you ever starved, Dave? I have (through necessity, not some yuppy fad) - I did it often when I was a young single mum and there were significant personality changes clearly observed by my friends and family.
I became aggressive, argumentative and very fierce. The fierceness increased depending on how long I starved.
Well fed, housed etc and I became plump and happy, very jocular and focused.

Starvation is the key to triggering major survival mode and that mode is capable of killing. I know that for sure from my own experiences of it.

I have a dear special friend in Aberdeenshire. She went through starvation like me when she was young and it caused her to become a food hoarder. Her cupboards and fridge are constantly stacked to the top! My grandparents, who survived WW2 in East London also hoarded food because they had gone without so often and it affected them profoundly. When I was moving my grandmother to live near me I found old tins of processed peas from the war years!
