I watched this video by DuByne three or so years ago when he put this out. I'm not sure how much weight to give his October prediction. He points out COLLAPSE quite a bit, and will eventually be right. Overall, I like his work and his help to point others to prepare. And watch his videos often. However, Bill Cooper predicted that there would be a fake alien invasion, also in October, 2024. He's the one who told us 9/11 would happen and then was off'd, so something is gonna happen it seems.
I had thought that old buildings (pre-1900s) had basements and cellars because of the relatively constant temperature the ground has (geothermal energy). In warm climates a cellar could keep food fresher for longer, in a cool climate it could keep the house warmer.
Also, in the past, building upwards was more difficult than it is today. You can get an entire extra storey by going down instead of increasing the footprint of your foundations to go an extra storey higher up. So it makes sense for engineering reasons.

I don't think of this planet as 'floating in outer space'. It seems to be gravitationally tied to the sun and that is part of a swirling galaxy which is also part of larger universe. Outer space suggests a vast emptiness and that is clearly not where this planet is.
