heh, I'm starting to feel the same way. The communities and tribes there have turned into lacklustre upvote fests of late, which is sad because that's what initially drew me to STEEM / HIVE.
I've had a million times more interaction with users on substack than I have had on HIVE and the stats stuff does look well nifty. I'm going to use both, knowing full well HIVE is moreso a place for me to archive videos, audio, images and written content. This is the place for interacting with others :-)
I remember the co-ordinated downvoting from thsoe whales - they targeted my friend @ura-soul quite heavily because of his regular and extremely successful articles on COVID-19's latest bullshit headlines. Not sure if it ever got resolved
Yep! Ura-soul was one of the accounts which was targeted. The witch-hunt was disgraceful and put me off Hive completely. I had the impression that the place was so successful that the shills invaded it and turned it toxic to damage the platform deliberately. That was a great shame because the blockchain concept is really good. My account there is now merely an archive for me, rather than the go-to place it once was.
I concur and yep it was exactly like you say, those accounts didn't win at the end of the day but they disincentivize bloggers from writing great content for hive.

My impression is that Chudov has too many comments to be able to handle them, but he allows open discussion, which is respectable, whatever he is peddling. The same actually applies to Kirsch, too (who, on rare occasions, answered my comments, but didn't bother to get involved).
I only have a fraction of their subscribers, but it takes about three hours a day to do the housekeeping.

Have you noticed in the past few months, and especially weeks, how increasingly the "Fab Five" (more or less) keep pointing to one another, coalescing into a kind of "we're the (self-appointed) leaders" of this movement, creating endless drama around/among themselves to keep people focused on them, and even attempting to neutralize (by anticipating, etc) charges of being controlled op?
Well, upon reflection, as you know it's a fairly large network of people who seem to not only be collaborating about what to say, and who is "legitimate," but also about what is not allowable to discuss. "Fab Five" had a nice ring to it haha! :)
