1974 brought us the UK General Election during February and I was delighted when Labour managed to just tip the balance in their favour putting Harold Wilson into number 10 Downing Street. Inflation was running at 17% and we were starting to feel the pinch, especially in the building trade. Although there was still a lot of work available, getting supplies to sites was becoming more difficult.
Wow, I feel for you on this one Frances. Unlike you Frances, I drank lots of alcohol when I was that age and would have flattened Lorraine, and her driving the car would not have stopped me. Looking back at the few girls I knew that slept with my second boyfriend, I should not have done what I did and said to them. I should have broken up with him instead. I wish I could go back and change all of that now. I admire you even more now that you were able to keep it cool, even though you claimed to be in some kind of shock at the time. Not drinking alcohol has its benefits!
I am saddened with this episode of S.I.M.L But I'm getting a sense of The Lady Frances Leader and why you are what you are, a practical woman who cares for her family who has love in your heart for all but does not suffer fools easily, I'm intrigued to what will happen next in this exciting read all be it simultaneously sad, I have had similar experiences in my life but this has made me stronger and the reminder of the strikes and prime minister Harold Wilson was back in the day when politicians at least had the illusion of doing the right thing by the electorate unlike the true Enemy of the people, GOVERNMENTS/COUNCILS and their credited citizens, law enforcement officers etc. Thanks for opening your heart to the world. Respect & X 2 All.
Ahh the trifels of love I remember on my Fathers death bed that I swore to him to abstain and look after my Mother which I did for 29 years. And now my mother has gone I no longer feel the need. But it must have felt like the final twist of the knife. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
I gotta say, you got some big balls lady. I’d be proud to call you a friend. You never sees to amaze me. Your honesty is refreshing and brutal in the same moment. That’s why I love reading prose. Thank you 🙏🏻
