Returning from shopping on a cold wintry day, I was within 10 paces of my front gate when I was suddenly surrounded by plain clothes policemen diving out of many parked cars.
I'm glad you made it through this episode unscathed, Frances! You're so handy. You almost make me wish I hadn't given away my sewing machine when I moved. Almost! Thx for another grand episode. xo
I loved to make everything from scratch when I was young. I learned a lot of traditional arts. I was a sponge for them. Later, I put all that to good use in a business. Nowadays I seldom have a need to sew or create. I have slowed down a lot and I can't remember when I last used a sewing machine. It is a different time now.
Merry Christmas Frances! Thank you for the pleasure of sharing in your past and all other splendid research/work you post! Thank you for your generosity ❤️

Absolutely love it!!!
Poverty working on an oil rig? That's like 60-70 grand? People in wales are lucky to earn half of that. You must be in some serious debt.
You obviously have not followed this story and make a classic mistake of assuming that you can equate modern salaries with those we earned in the 70s.
