Boston Dynamics proudly develops its robots but claims that they won’t produce a robot as a weapon. However, they are used by the military for burden bearing duties and there is always the possibility that DARPA or others might adapt these inventions for nefarious activities like planting explosive devices, aiming Directed Energy Weapons or producing electro-magnetic frequencies for active denial to persons.
Note: BigDog, quadruped robot was created by Boston Dynamics with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency that is capable of traversing varied terrain and maintaining its balance on ice and snow.
Boston Dynamics likes to create videos which amuse too:
We can buy robotic pets - no feeding and no vets bills! What is not to like? 🙄
We have all seen robotic vacuum cleaners buzzing around floors in films and adverts.
Are there robotic lovers? OK…. let’s not go there, I am starting to see that flesh and blood is becoming redundant!
Are you fascinated by the future of robotics? Or does it worry you?
Let me know in comments please!
I find these robots both creepy and sinister, as well as closely involved in the Ahrimanic agenda for transhumanism and The Eighth Sphere.
It is also clear that they are intended to replace humans in many workplaces. I have no problem with supplementing the human workforce in some circumstances; but it would be wrong to force a human out of a job.
It seems that some believe that having millions of people of working age permanently at leisure collecting universal basic income while robots do all the work and generate profits to fund universal basic incomes is an attractive idea. I can see the attraction; but I also believe there would be innumerable unintended consequences causing social problems, etc.
Typically, the promos declare these robots are for friendly purposes only. lol
To make 'our' lives easier, more efficient. Ha!
MIT is a major Pentagon incubator and contractor. Much of its funding derives from the laughably named 'Defense' Department.
Spot- the canine version- has been seen with law enforcement patrolling Boston Common- the public gardens in that city. Also home to MIT. (Technically it is situated in Cambridge- across the Charles River).
The beehive of military tech should be renamed Military Institute Of Technology. Probably 90% of its r n d is for...defense. <wink, wink>
