Panopticon - a symbol of social control that extends into everyday life for all citizens

Jeremy Bentham, an English philosopher, member of the Hellfire Club and social theorist in the mid-1700s, invented a social control mechanism that would become a comprehensive symbol for modern authority and discipline in the western world: a prison system called the Panopticon.

The basic principle for the design, which Bentham first completed in 1785, was to monitor the maximum number of prisoners with the fewest possible guards and other security costs. The layout (which is depicted below) consists of a central tower for the guards, surrounded by a ring-shaped building of prison cells.

The building with the prisoners is only one cell thick, and every cell has one open side facing the central tower. This open side has bars over it, but is otherwise entirely exposed to the tower. The guards can thus see the entirety of any cell at any time, and the prisoners are always vulnerable and visible. Conversely, the tower is far enough from the cells and has sufficiently small windows that the prisoners cannot see the guards inside of it.

The sociological effect is that the prisoners are aware of the presence of authority at all times, even though they never know exactly when they are being observed. The authority changes from being a limited physical entity to being an internalized omniscience- the prisoners discipline themselves simply because someone might be watching, eliminating the need for more physical power to accomplish the same task. Just a few guards are able to maintain a very large number of prisoners this way. Arguably, there wouldn't even need to be any guards in the tower at all.

Bentham's Panopticon scheme was a slave labour camp first designed by him in Russia in 1787 while he was visiting his brother, an East India Company spy. Asked by Prince Poternkin, the prime minister of Catherine the Great, to help procure a steam engine to build up Russian industry, Bentham argued that human labour, not steam power ought to be sufficient. His design, complete with elaborate architectural drawings, called for criminals, the indigent, and the retarded along with their children, to be placed in jail cells equipped with primitive machinery run by a central power source, which in tum would be fuelled by swings, merry-go-rounds, and see-saws in the children's cellblock. The energy expended by the children playing with the toys would drive the factory. A central guardroom equipped with two-way mirrors would permit one guard to oversee the slave labour of hundreds. Above the main door of the Panopticon was to be a sign, reading: "Had they been industrious when free, they need not have drudged here like slaves. "

During his tour of Russia and the Ottoman Empire, when he devised his Panopticon scheme and wrote In Defence of Usury, Bentham wrote in his diary: "It is an old maxim of mine that interest, as love, should be free. " 'In Defence of Pederasty' It is therefore of little shock that we find Bentham also writing in 1785 an essay on the subject of pederasty-arguing against any sanctions against homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation, and bestiality. Bentham dismissed the harsh penalties then in force against pederasty as the result of irrational religious fears born of the Old Testament destruction of Sodom and perpetuated by society's "irrational antipathy" to pleasure in general and to sexual pleasure in particular. Christian morality, like every other expression of natural law, had no place in Bentham's world of pleasure and pain.

In 1813, parliament granted Bentham 23,000 pounds to build the first ever panopticon prison. This panopticon in New Delhi was completed in 1817 and is still functioning as a prison to this day (Wikipedia).

Michel Foucault, a French intellectual and critic, expanded the idea of the panopticon into a symbol of social control that extends into everyday life for all citizens, not just those in the prison system (Foucault 1970). He argues that social citizens always internalise authority, which is one source of power for prevailing norms and institutions. A driver, for example, might stop at a red light even when there are no other cars or police present. Even though there are not necessarily any repercussions, the police are an internalized authority- people tend to obey laws because those rules become self-imposed.

This is a profound and complicated idea, namely because the process entails a high degree of social intuition; the subject must be able to situate him or her self amidst a network of collective expectations. The crucial point is that the subject's specific role within the network is incorporated as a part of the body and mind, which then manifests as self-discipline.

Bentham made a philosophical breach with American republicans clear in a lengthy tract entitled An Introduction to the Principles of Morals and Legislation (1780). That manuscript would not only prescribe the founding principles of British philosophical radicalism; it would propel Bentham into the very centre of a then-emerging new British Foreign Office and British Foreign Intelligence Service, consolidated under the guiding hand of William Petty, Lord Shelburne, a man who at the time was the de facto, if not de jure Venetian doge of Britain.

At the very moment of his taking up with Bentham, Lord Shelburne was in the process of launching his most daring political intrigues. In June 1780, weary of the failed prosecution of the war in North America, and convinced that the ministry of Lord George North would bring eternal ruin to his dreams of permanent empire, Lord Shelburne, through the East India Company and its allied Baring Bank, bankrolled a Jacobin mob to descend upon London, ostensibly in protest over the granting of Irish reforms.

The so-called Irish reforms amounted to little more than forced conscription of Irishmen into the British Army to fight in North America-a move Shelburne hoped would also defeat the pro-American republican movement inside Ireland that had nearly launched its own revolt against Britain in 1779.

Led by Lord George Gordon, the Protestant rabble stormed Westminster, sending parliamentarians and lords alike down flights of stairs, out windows, and to the hospitals. For eight days, London was ransacked, culminating in the storming of the Newgate Prison and the freeing of all the prisoners, who joined in the assault on the Parliament building. Lord Shelburne, as head of the interior committee of the House of Lords, personally ensured the maximum terror by delaying the reading of the Riot Act (which would have called out the Home Guard) until violence had spread to every comer of the city. When the flames subsided, the ministry of Lord North was in ashes as well. North resigned as prime minister, and within months, Shelburne was himself in the new Rockingham cabinet as foreign secretary for the Northern District, subsuming the North American colonies. From that post, he would be the principal negotiator in Paris across the table from Benjamin Franklin.

By this time also, King George III had declared himself wholly subservient to the Shelburne-led East India Company faction - the Venetian Party.

The intelligence operations formerly housed at the East India Company were henceforth run out of the Foreign Ministry and the British Secret Intelligence Services (SIS).

The Jacobin insurrection in Paris during 1791-93 was a replay on grander scale of the earlier Shelburne-instigated Gordon Riots, down to the storming of the Bastille prison and the unleashing of the criminals. From the outset, the Jacobin Terror was a British East India Company, British Foreign Office orchestrated affair. The bloody massacre of France 's scientific elite was systematically carried out by French hands, manning French guillotines, but guided by British strings.

Bowring, Bentham's long-suffering personal secretary, would later supervise the publication of Bentham's collected works in an 11 volume series; would serve as Lord Palmerston's agent-handler of the notorious Giuseppe Mazzini; and would instigate the Second Opium War against China from his post as emissary in Canton.

Urquhart, one of the youngest of the Benthamites, would later become the agent-handler for Karl Marx.

Upon his death in 1832, Bentham's body was dissected and stuffed; his head was cast in bronze and placed at his feet, with a mask affixed in its place. For years, the mummified Bentham, seated in his favourite chair inside a glass case, was an ever-present participant in meetings of his radical circle. In the 1990s, the mummy would still enjoy a place of prominence at London University.

How do we see this insanity manifest today?

Aside from cameras, facial recognition, digital IDs and other obvious imprisonments, we are subjected to surveillance (and even microwave attack) from satellites. Some of which are barely known.

There has been a global totalitarian coup since July 2019. Hardly anyone seems to have realised this. The WEF & UN signed an accord in which they pledged to implement Agenda 2030 immediately.
All national governments obey the UNELECTED global government because almost every national government is a member of the UN and has been trapped by loans from the IMF which carry, in the small print, strict conditions to implement lockdowns, social distancing, masks & vaccines whenever asked to do so.

Biden, Boris & all 5-Eyes politicians are just the order followers, the gofers.
The UK Police & military swear their allegiance to the Queen, not the people.
The Queen is at the top of the international crime gang which grew from Venice and the small beginnings of the British Venetian Party mentioned above.
They name themselves the Black Nobility but it is actually a global mafia.

The Black Nobs have their OWN INTERNET, have done since the 80s to my certain knowledge. It operates via INMARSAT which is an intelligence gathering satellite system, independent (& very expensive) first developed in 1979 by the International Maritime Organisation, the UN’s maritime body, as an international governmental organisation housed at the Lloyds of London building.

When they shut down the internet & they will, we will be governed by the most efficient global totalitarian system imaginable. Think China on steroids.

How do I know this?

I worked as a PA for the inventor of the INMARSAT global surveillance system during its launch. I assisted in selling the data collected by the system to the CIA for BILLIONS annually.

This is why I am so very concerned now.
The inventor of INMARSAT was a German scientist by the name Dr Elisabeth Mueller. She was in her late 60s during the 1980s. She had been a student during WW2 & was a genius attached to Operation Paperclip.

So you see that the super rich & their obedient national governments, military & transport links do not depend on the public internet for their communications. They could switch our internet off completely & still maintain their absolute surveillance & control. Remember that they have already experimented with communications blackouts in Kashmir, Myanmar, Kazakhstan.
