Frank collected a few internet links together and sent them to all the dinner guests via his protonmail address. He realised that this unexpected communication might come as a surprise but, given the circumstances, he could see no other choice:
1) Who is invited to Davos?

3) Who are the HIDDEN HAND?
4) What is coming next?
The moment he pressed ‘send’ he knew that he had taken a decisive step. It was not a small thing. It was huge, given his profession. However, Frank was unfazed. Frank was morally a Christian first. A devoted son to his proud parents, second. His career, as a British MI6 agent, came some way behind these two priorities, whether the agency demanded otherwise or not.
He waited for replies but there were none. Only Khan acknowledged receipt with a thumbs up symbol. At 7.30pm Dave and Pru pulled into the underground car park beneath Diamond’s Kensington home closely followed by Khan and Olympia who had been opening up her house in Knightsbridge after her long absence. They were all starving after a very busy day. The wafting, tempting smell of Diamond’s Beef Cobbler greeted them and they all expressed surprise. Even Olympia did not know that Diamond could cook! “How hard can it be?” teased Diamond, quoting Olympia’s favourite catch-phrase and everyone laughed over their glasses of red wine.
“Cheers!” they chorused, clinking glasses.
Around the dining room table everyone was cheerful except Frank. He was silent and grim-faced. Eventually Khan noticed and queried, “You alright, man?” to which Frank nodded without smiling. “I am sorry, Frank…. I haven’t had time to read all those links you sent earlier. Madam has had me run off my feet!” and Olympia agreed with a confirmatory, unabashed admission. “I haven’t read them either!” she confessed.
Frank laughed wryly. “I didn’t think you would - the whole lot takes many hours, especially the videos! But I wanted you all to know what is really going on before we embark on Olympia’s Plan.”
Everyone stared at Frank. He had just announced, by implication, that he was approving Olympia’s Plan and was intending to facilitate it. Olympia stood up raising her glass solemnly.
“To friendship!” she toasted, “Long may it last!” and Diamond had a brief memory flash of the characters of Tolkien’s epic tales, The Lord of the Rings, agreeing to set off on an epic journey to rescue the world from evil. Suddenly, the symbolism of that story had implications that she had never noticed before. It wasn’t a fairy tale. It wasn’t a fantasy. It was a mission and she gulped a large mouthful of red wine to steady her nerves. Life had suddenly become very serious indeed for the six friends and, quite likely, for the whole world beyond the opulence of that town house in Kensington.
