Thanks to Diva for sending me here, where I should have been already but I'll correct that. I once asked my little neighborhood hippie grocery to post who owned the brand. They said no one would have anything left they could buy and feel good about. Now that store has another owner who's sold to a developer to put in 3000 sq ft of commercial space with 5 stories of 52 units above. Ala 15 min cities, they don't need parking or set backs. And nothing the neighborhood can do about it.

Welcome Tereza! It is very interesting to piece together how Big Brother and all his useful idiots are embracing the 15 minute city plans. I keep thinking of Rosa Koire and how hard she worked to inform us. Yet still, people won't believe it until they bump into a Gaza style check point at the bottom of their own street.

Thank you Frances! Here in Newsom-land, each city has quotas for how much new housing they HAVE to build. And it has to be evenly distributed among wealthy, aka white neighborhoods. So if a city doesn't meet its quota, they can enact the Builder's Remedy, meaning they can put up a 5 story building in any neighborhood without setbacks or parking, and there's nada the city can do about it.

Now let's add that the 'wildfires' destroyed homes two years ago that have been only 15% rebuilt. Now no one can get insurance for a home that's NOT in the city and vulture funds are bidding 30-50% over asking price in all cash deals so no one can buy and those who lost homes are paying $5K/ mo for two-bedroom rentals. And there's a bill in the Assembly to ban the building of homes outside city limits since they can't get insurance, of course.

Lotta shit to stir here in LaLaLand.

I've heard either Newssolini or perhaps only LA County is MANDATING that all rentals have air conditioning. Yet another benefit for the pocketbooks of the masses.

I was quite dismayed by the list of "Natural product" companies sold out to big industry. Now they are just meaningless brands. Best Foods Mayonnaise was corrupted many years ago - by Unilever. I doubt I will ever forgive them.

Great memes!! Thank you.

Whole Foods buying out so many stores and then selling to Amazon really destroyed something precious.

Whole Foods buying out the small independent stores (where I used to shop) was and remains tragic. Selling out to Amazon should have been an indicator of their dedication to organic and bulk foods. Not - they proved to be just another "business" whose goal was to get big and cash out. To hell with their customers.

They didn't remain true to the smaller stores long before they sold to Amazon.

I will admit, I started a material distribution company in 2007, grew it and sold it to huge conglomerate in 2016. When they come with that bag of freshly printed funny money it's hard to pass it up - especially when they are buying all of your competitors and you know they will crush you if you hold out. I don't much fault most of those companies that sold out. Large companies with centralized management company lose the ability to innovate and thus must absorb the little entrepreneurial businesses to continue growing in an effort to keep in the good graces of Black Rock. typically overpaying in the process.

The other day I saw someone has made an app where you can check for woke brands while you shop. This concept could easily be extended to other standards, like 'eco' rating.

Given that we are in the information/ digital age whether we like it or not, I think it's essential that we (ordinary people) apply our own 'social credit' system to brands, stores, media and to politicians too.

If virtuous people don't use technology to keep a database of all the evil in the world, then those evil people will impose their own database (social credit) which works in reverse.... rewarding the morally bankrupt (the obedient) and keeping tabs on virtuous people who pose a threat to evil.

The power of digital technology is making the eternal battle between good and evil much more intense..... whichever side uses technology to its full potential will win. At the moment they are using technology to create a database of everyone, while we are still using it to watch cat videos.

That one about the natural food companies being bought out is a dandy. Makes me wonder how many so called health foods are actually healthy.

When this video was first aired I remarked that Blackrock invests for the Black Nobility and Vanguard invests for the Vatican. I was asked how I knew that.

I simply figured it out from history, logos and the symbols they use.
