Diversity happens in isolation. With modern communication and travel we are becoming the human race. But there is a large divergence in the political sphere still. A lot of big players vying for supremacy.
Beautiful! But, to fight evil, we should indeed provide a united front. And further resist the constant deliberate psyops to divide and splinter us into small easily manageable factions or groups that are smashed with one foot.
The flowering of our cultures, genetics. language, art and thought depend on diversity, So do our lives. Hopefully our diversity, instead of representing a threat, can actually inform our every thought and action. The diversity is very good, the herd like group think is not. By celebrating and incorporating diversity we can prevail and triumph. There have been cultures on this planet that were and still are very good at that. We have the power to look to the fragments of these cultures that remain and include them in our politics. Our revolutionary ancestors excluded them due to political expediency. They were wrong and we don't want to make the same mistakes.

I think what we're encountering is far worse than disunity. Disunity, after all, presupposes some common ground, however thin and insubstantial it may be.
It's almost as if we face the absence even of disunity.
