“What are you studying?” Diamond asked Frank, who was frowning, in his own world with his headphones plugged into his laptop. He clicked pause and took the headphones off momentarily.
“Have you heard of Whitney Webb?” he asked. Diamond shook her head, “Is she a singer?” she guessed and Frank smiled. “In a way, yes!”
“I will email the links to you - but be prepared, it may take you a while to catch up with it all!”
“Does this pertain to your next assignment?” teased Diamond with a twinkle in her mischievous eye. Frank looked at her resignedly. They reckon she is dim, he thought. An underestimation, if ever there was one!
“Now, you know that I can neither admit nor deny! So just listen and make your own assessment.” He got up and went to the kitchen for coffee. Much of Whitney Webb’s commentary dove-tailed with intelligence he had gathered himself and, uncomfortably, he agreed with her opinions and speculations. He also agreed with her realisation that her life is in danger. She is getting very close to the big names, he worried, but was cheered by the remoteness of her location in Chile. Not that she was entirely out of reach, just that a hit on her would be difficult to pull off unnoticed.
Frank especially liked Whitney’s assessment that Epstein, Schwab and Harari are ‘middle management’. These people were selected to take the heat and be protected by operatives such as himself. Frank was not looking forward to the upcoming conference in Davos. He had misgivings. Just a feeling which he could not shake off.
Diamond called out to him from the lounge, “Bring the Hobnobs, Frank!” and he stepped into the walk-in larder to find some. Diamond had accessed the household shopping account and was working her way through several orders to restock her kitchen, now that the housekeeper was no longer in charge. She had held off on engaging a replacement housekeeper because she was enjoying the privacy and having a ‘hands on’ approach to her home for the first time in her life. The contract cleaners were also cut back to one weekly visit. The gardener also.
Since Frank had come into her life, she preferred not to have prying eyes around, but realised that a 6 storey London town house was way beyond her needs. Two floors of the house had been virtually closed off since her mother had died. Those floors were her parents’ rarely used, London residence. She knew she had to get around to clearing them out, but not yet. She had no firm idea what to do with her parents personal effects.
A couple of times, on really noisy and busy days, she had toyed with the idea of selling up and buying a dream thatched cottage somewhere as far away from the hectic London scene as she could get, but she needed to run this idea by Olympia who was so impossibly difficult to track down, even at the best of times. Obviously, Olympia was part owner in the London town house and her opinion mattered. Diamond resolved to broach the subject as soon as her older sister was back from the Caribbean.
Frank found her glumly gazing out of the window at the cold and dreary grey London day. “Come and watch the Whitney Webb video with me,” he suggested, patting the sofa beside himself. I want to take notes this time!”

SeaSwan was safe in Dave’s experienced hands. However, Khan and Olympia had never sailed the Atlantic and so Dave found them a great 15 minute video which explains the weather changes they could expect during the crossing. The hurricane season was over at the end of November generally, but there is always a variety of windspeeds to contend with.
Khan was grateful for an hour watching videos on the computer in the wheelhouse. He chose to check into Suspicious Observers daily update while he was there:
As recommended by Ben, of Suspicious Observers, Khan called Olympia to come and watch the documentary film, OUT OF SHADOWS with him in the wheelhouse while Dave took a sleep break.

I'd like to see the proof that a new species comes from radiation damage to DNA, if that's what he's saying.
