COMET NOW VISIBLE FROM UK
Comet That May Never Return to Earth Captured in Naked Eye Video and Photos
A comet not seen from Earth in tens of thousands of years is visible in the skies this month.
Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was discovered on March 2, 2022 by astronomers Frank Masci and Bryce Bolin using the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) at the Palomar Observatory in California. At the time, the comet was just inside the orbit of Jupiter some 399 million miles (643 million km) from the sun. Fast forward to today, and the comet has already made its closest approach to the sun and in a few weeks will make its closest approach to the Earth on Feb. 1.
I was just saying to a friend these past couple days . . . I hope a meteor or coment hits Davos this week. Just a piece big enough to take care of big business there. PS maybe that's why I heard George and Klaus didn't show up : (
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this Frances.
This video is helpful in terms of where to look in the night sky on the nights of 31st January and 1st February. I know exactly where to look now. It appears to be taking a similar path as a comet did a few years ago. I can't remember which one it was though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahIPtCRcULo
I live up in the hills in a dark skies area with 360 degree views of the starry night sky. I certainly hope there will be crisp clear skies those nights. 💫🙏✨
