REINCARNATION
A personal anecdote
I have mentioned reincarnation a few times in my recent newsletters.
In this message I want to tell you the story of my most recent life before this one.
When I was 6 months old I began to talk. My mum said that I rapidly mastered lots of words in two languages at once. I asked her about the boat and the river but she had no idea what I was talking about.
I had a very strong fully detailed memory which I drew before I could express it fully in words. I repeatedly drew Chinese women and a river running between steep sided mountains.
I remember that it was a very dark night and I was laid in the bottom of a long flat bottomed punt. My mother was stood up, silently pushing the boat along the river very close to one of the shores. From my position I could see her and the mountains above, topped by a starlit sky. I was crying and my mother was trying to hush me. She was absolutely terrified.
Suddenly, the silent darkness was shattered by a massive flash of light followed by the sound of shots being fired. There is no more to this memory.
I was so curious about this vivid memory that I had to know what happened next. As a child I was convinced that this event occurred recently, in this life so I was baffled that my mother did not know where the river was…. I drew it over and over but she said that there is nowhere in Britain with such strange shaped mountains.
By pure chance, much later in life, I was visiting a friend who loved to watch a lot of television. I saw, for the first time, an image of the Lijiang River and gasped. That was the place. Oddly, as soon as I had recognised and researched the place, my dreams of it stopped happening. It was like an old file, long open in my filing-cabinet-brain had finally closed and slid comfortably back into its place, acknowledged and treasured.
I have heard many stories about children recollecting previous lives, even going to visit their previous families or villages. It is not considered odd to have these memories if you live in a Hindu or Buddhist country.

Fascinating. I was 'regressed' by an adept years ago and discovered that I was a Spanish Noble in my previous life...which explains my odd familiarity with all things Spanish...I still retain some skepticism in one part of my forebrain, however.
