I had my first belly laugh, tears rolling down cheeks laughter in several years last night as I started viewing the older BBC Austen's Pride and Prejudice through a current lens.
I first noticed that Mrs Bennet's terrible nervous complaints after Lydia runs off with the wicked Wickham, mirrored those of a serious AR to an mRNA shot (or EMF poisoning?!), "tremblings, flutterings all over me, shooting pains in my head, such spasms in my side and such beatings at my heart, that I can get no rest by night nor by day".
And then as Darcy repeatedly asks after the health of her family - "And I hope your family is all in good health?" Lizzy might say something like, "I thank you Sir, but no. They are all shot up."
To which Lady Catherine would exclaim, "All of them?! The younger ones before the elder ones?!"
"Upon my word, you give your opinion very decidedly for so unvaccinated a person. Pray what IS your vaccination status?"
Lizzy responds, "With an entire family all shot up, you can hardly expect me to own it".
Anyway, we went on with it until we had to catch our breath.....
What can we do but laugh? At the Tampons and Balones of the world as well?
