70 YEARS OLD TODAY

I never expected to live this long!

My birthday always arrives suddenly every year.
February is a few days short and bam…. it is March 2nd in no time!

I like the surprise of it, sneaking up on me like that.

I don’t usually make much fuss about birthdays but the 70th is special. Three score years and ten (to quote a bible reference) is supposed to be our allotted time isn’t it? So I am glad to have made it, even if I can’t stand the sight of me in the mirror!

I am having a nice glass of chilled white wine and some naughty mint chocolate after a delicious traditional Chinese Roast Pork dinner.

My son said “What shall I get you for your birthday?” He looked genuinely perplexed when I said I have all that I need.

It has not always been this way. I have gone without more often than been financially secure. But right now, I am satisfied with my lot.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a similar 70th birthday when you get there!
